Ignition problems

Ignition problems
no spark from the coil to the distributer, any suggestions? checked everything except the ECM and replaced everything but the ECM and ICM on the distributer. been banging head against the wall for a MINUTE!!!

Search for TFI and PIP circuit, common problem...best changed together at the same time.

i changed the magnetic p/u in the distributer and still nothing. been reading the book and it says if everything checks out then it's the ICM. what do you think?

Many times those re-manufactured distributors come in the box with a bad pick up...is that what you put in, also, did you install a new TFI?

no sir. just replaced the pickup in the distributer. do you mean the ignition control module mounted on the distributer when you are talking about the TFI?

no i haven't but i did all the resistance checks and it checked out. could it still be bad?

Well it passed, try unplugging the computer and see if you get spark

Yea most likely the pins are different...pull your codes, see if the PIP is listed...what year is she

Disconnected the computer and got spark! Guess I'm either chasing a ground or buying a computer. How do you tell what model computer you have?
