Hello. I down loaded the Turbo Removal pdf from this site & I have everything disconnected. It took forever to find the bolt in the back, Now with all 3 bolts out & exhaust in & out disconnected, along with oil feed off & electrical disconnected, I don't know if I should tap on it or what to do. I can't afford to break anything.
FYI, I'm going to install egr cooler delete etc. Thanks for any help.
The first time I took mine off I had to tap it with a rubber mallet. The oil drain pipe is probably holding it. Try tapping it up to get the oil drain pipe loose / free. Mine came right off after that (assuming everything else is disconnected).
I'm looking at Turbo Removal & Installation pdf now & can't understand why it tells you in:
Step 11-Loosen the exhaust inlet pipe-to-EGR cooler clamp.
#12-Loosen the LH exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
#13-Loosen the RH exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
How does help the removal of turbo? I must be missing something. Thanks.
Always a good idea if you live in the salt states, to remove and replace the 4 up-pipe bolts and nuts. If all the bolts are removed and pipes loose, put some effort into it.....
I got it off & happy as can be. I pryed where cheezit said & great results. I had to take the heat shield off of turbo (2 little bolts I think) to be able to raise it up enough. Thank you everybody for offering help. Next I have a quick question. I've head something last year about some plastic oil/fuel screen comming apart & people were replacing with s.s. I think can anyone help me here.
I am going to do the egr cooler delete, I have ford upgraded oil cooler. I have to study more to see what has to come off engine for this. Any links would help. Good night, Rick
