Rear end help/advice

Hi everyone, i am having to replace my rear end in my 2000 f150 (due to my stupidity) and would like y'all's opinion on the prices a guy gave me for used rear ends. He said his parts man has one near by for 900$ and it has 84K on it. im wondering if this is a decent price or what? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Oh and its a 3:55 limited slip with 9.75 ring gear

If that $900 is for the part and installation, maybe. But 900 for the rear-end with 84K on it sounds way high!
Ive seen them listed for like $300.
I would shop around if I were you. You can do better then that.

I'm agreeing with Phil, although it does make a difference if you have 4wabs (according to my salvage yard anyway), on the high end I was still only looking at 525 for the rear end assembly... I chose to just rebuild the one I had, just for piece of mind I guess... Just my .02

i think it's high as well, and, on top of that, I'm pretty sure that's not the OEM for your truck. that truck came, I think, with the 8.8, not the 9.75. You can certainly make the 9.75 work, just be sure to understand you are modding the truck with that swap...

It depends on what motor his truck has.
4.6 came with 8.8
5.4 came with 9.75

I saw an 8.8 on ebay for less then 200 bucks...lol

Yep, if it would happen to be the 8.8 they're a dime a dozen... the 9.75 on the other hand are a little harder to find and a little steeper in price... Mine was the 9.75 btw...
