Question/dash lights

when i turn on my escape the dash lights don't come on unless i turn them on they use to come on all the time when in dark parking area and now i have to turn them on i use to here a click then the lights would come on i dont here that click anymore.any info on this matter would be appreciated.

Defective relay, maybe?

Defective relay, where can i find this relay on my 2003 escape i have 2 fuse box's one under my hood on the left side and the other inside under left side of dash ??? and is this relay just a fuse or something different. any info would be appreciated.

A relay is a square box containing an electromagnet and a switch. It is a switch that is operated electrically. I don't have the 2003 fuse chart. Do you have an owner's manual? It should map out the fuses and relays. Look for any that seem to have to do with interior or dash lights.

just wondering if it's the accessory relay it's the only one that the manual shows and it's located under the left side of the dash and when i turn dash lights to the on position i here a click the relay has the letters ACC on it.

I think you're looking for the one that used to click and no longer does. But I am in the dark here -- not familiar with your vehicle.
