Just had my friends F350 into the dealer because it was making a noise and seemed like it had 1 cylinder not fireing.
Dealer says no compression on #6 so we towed it home and took the vlve cover off and guess what no rocker arm on #6 intake valves.
So called the dealed and he said the rocker arm was broken so we went and got the arm, its not broken but he got it off with out taking the fuel rail off.
Intake valves both can be pushed in and the push rod is not bent.
Has any one had this problem could the ball that the rocker arm pivots on have broken?
Suggestions please.
Chuck
there have been some rocker arm failures. Not common but has happened. Speculation is extended oil change intervals and fuel dillution as contributing to some of this issue.
