I have a 96 f150 and if I drive a short distance and shut The truck off it dosent have enough juice to turn the truck over. But if I go to town and back it will fire up no problem. Im kinda thinkin its starter draw...anyone run into this problem
Hmm, well if you start with the basics, I would attach voltage meter. With truck off, measure voltage, then with truck running, measure again. While stopped the battery should be close to 12V I believe and while running, it should be around 14v? That would be the alternator.
There's a batt meter in the truck and its usuly around the same..but as soon as I turn it over it drains quick...even on a good start..but will still check with the voltage meter
Thanks for the help guys..after the truck wouldn't start when I was in the woods fishing (a fellow fishermen came along and gave me a boost) I went stright to the garage and got a load test done and sure enough the batt was the problem...new batt and good to go
