I've got a rattle that seems to be coming from the upper rear area (nearest the B pillar) of the drivers window at highway speed. The interesting thing is that the rattle goes away when I retract the mirrors. Anyone know what might be going on?
2011 F250, Ultimate Lariat package, moonroof, FX4, chrome package (checked the chrome trim on mirror and no obvious loose trim there).
Does the window make a clanking sound? When I drive on side roads with the window down it clanks over bumps. It is much worse in the winter. Took the door panel off and couldnt find anything other the window frame flexing.
Not a clanking sound - more of a rattle. Thought it was something in the seat belt adjustment area at first until I tried the mirror retract and got rid of the noise. Haven't tried with window down, yet. Not sure how well I could hear at highway speed with it down but will try and see.
Mwilbourn. On mine that rattle was the seal that runs from the pillar post back, like just a dust seal. I just put a little silicone on it and it stopped. I think the rubber is just to hard. And it flutters at 50 and up.
I also siliconed the seals and it solved any noise problems I was experiencing. Also, it's a double seal and sometimes one will fold over so that's something to check. I think mine folded over because of the Thule roof racks I had installed.
