Not easey, Remove steering wheel, turn leaver, 2 bolts holding it to dash, 2 floor covers and seal, pitmit arm, horn wire, 3 bolts holding the box, Then jack the truck up as far as you can an it will come out the bottom. You can force it out the top but it may bend your floor. By the way the worm gear shaft in the collum goes all the way to the steering wheel it is one peace.
terryb,
Ford wouldn't have put that huge hole in the floor if they hadn't meant to make it possible to pull the column and steering box up through the floor. That's the way I do mine, and I've never had to bend anything, 3 speed shifter arms and all, or even jack the truck up. The key is to look at the shape of the hole, and then spin the column and box around to slip the parts up through the opening. Tip the top of the column out through the open door at the very end.
Good Luck!
