Does anybody know how to get pecan stains up? Down here in South Carolina we have problems with Pecans falling on driveways and such and leaving a terrible stain. Let a green pecan stay on anything for a day and you can't get the stain up! We have tried bleach with a pressure washer. That only makes the stain a tad lighter. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks. Benjamin
You may want to try a mixture of Peroxide & White Vinegar. It worked wonders on that "permanent purple" potassium stuff we used to use in our water system. I think the mixture was 1 part P to 4 parts WV.
Let me know if it works, maybe we can patent it & sell to all your neighbors.
Muratic acid in a 5:1 water to acid ratio is used to etch cponcrete for painting.
Don't use it.
You will remove the nuts scum okay, but you will also lose the nice surface of the concrete.
I didn't expect this much responce to this! I believe I will stay away from the acid stuff. Cutting it down and having a county cookout sounds really good but I doubt my Grandma would like me to do that to her trees. Benjamin
Benjamin - I wasn't kidding about the Peroxide/Vinegar mix. I don't know if it will work as well as it did on the stains we used it for, but you never know. Give it a try. It's cheap and almost everyone has those things hanging around in the kitchen & bathroom.
