Thinking about trading a steer for an F5

Okay you all. Tell me what you think. I heard about this truck and decided to look. You can tell by the pics that it is pretty far gone. But it just has that "look" that would make excellent "yard art" for a corner of one of my hay pastures. The owner says he will trade it for a good beef steer that he can put in the freezer. I just so happen to have a steer that I literally HATE because it wont stay inside the fence. The steer is more valuable than the truck. What do you guys think?

In a heartbeat, you can always raise another steer but they ain't making these trucks anymore Besides, the truck won't jump the fence, The truck don't look that bad. Allot of the folks on here have started with way worse and the sign on the door ect is just another bonus

Sounds like a deal, Doc, you're quite a "horse-trader".

Now, I've got a couple of meth-addict,Section 8 renters living near me,could you arrange a deal for me? Tell you what, send me a couple chickens,or a set of spark plugs and they're yours! LOL

Sounds like you got a bum steer. I kind of feel sorry for the bovine since an early destiny awaits him.

What’s better than a monkey face smiling in a hay field as a remembrance of times gone by? I’d take a picture of the steer and place it in the cab to pay tribute to his reincarnation.

LOL. You guys are a hoot. Its missing an engine but the tranny is still there. Cab is relatively intact but has been beat to death. The rear sections of the frame are very thin with a couple of holes actually. I assume those are WM wheels. The owner has about a zillion empty oil bottles in the cab. The front fenders are toast as expected. Steve, I usually get snickered by horse traders (at least this guy will be able to eat what he gets). But as bad as I despise that steer, I would rather have that truck. Plus my freezer is already full. LOL

The door art increased the truck's value immensely. Otherwise, I would have said the steer is worth quite a bit more.

Widowmakers? The outside duals are missing. Like I said, its rough. I just think I can give it a peaceful place to die. And who knows? Maybe someday bring it back. But at least it will have more dignity than sitting there beside that road with that pitiful Corvette.

They said they bought it down in TN. It must have been a dealership truck. I agree. The door art is the selling point for me.

Do the trade but take back some steaks after he has the steer butchered...have a big FTE bar-b-que and you will make some new friends!

Yes, widowmakers.

I'd think you, more than most, would be ratcheting back on that red meat. That truck won't plug your left main.

As I sit here I'm looking at the wife's new litter of pups. Hmmm, wonder whether she'd miss just one? Stu

LOL. Don't worry. I'm probably gonna get some "boot" in the deal. And I've actually considered an FTE picnic/garage/fun meeting here. But I'm not exactly on the beaten path geographically speaking.

This is all in fun really. The truck is way far gone. But who knows? I might get industrious someday and slap a flathead or a Y-block in it, radiator, and a rough bed on it. THEN, slap a small fortune in wheels which is always the drawback with these big guys.

Any chance you could get a little extra cash in addition to the truck for the steer, to equal out some of the value? Is there anything on the truck you could part out and sell to recoup some of your investment, without disrupting the yard art desirability?

Just a couple of thoughts.

Thanks. Yeah I try to hold back on it as much on the red meat as I can. But hey, I'm human.
