Don't get me wrong, I am more than happy with the overall performance and quality of my 2011 6.7 F250. That being said, did anyone else have extremely noticeable defects from the factory? I have never been accused of being patient so having to wait around 9 weeks from ordering to delivery of my truck was rough. I've gone through the wait before but I'm like a kid on christmas morning haha. Anyways my truck was delivered with the oil dip stick stuck up in the firewall from when the factory lowered the cab onto the chassis/engine. My main problem with that was how many inspections the truck was supposed to go through before the keys were handed over to me. I know for a fact that the dealer delivering my truck to me was supposed to check the oil. What gives? I'm imagining a scenario where someone was supposed to check the oil on my truck but was too embarassed to tell anyone that he could not find the dipstick. I had to have a dealer order a new dipstick and housing and install it which was a process in itself. It took a full day of labor! Granted it was covered under warranty (or else I would have installed the damn thing myself) but the process was painful. 60K plus for a truck and the oil is not even checked before it's handed off to me?? Enough ranting, I'm more than happy with my purchase just wondering if anyone else had a problem, besides all involved in the "painful" thread of course.
The only defect I ever found, well after getting the truck home, is theres a spot on the inside/under side of the bed where it looks like a hook or tie down hit the lower lip of the body. It isn't too noticeable (it took a while for me to find it). Other than that, I have not come across any imperfections or things I had to adjust/fix.
Haven't noticed anything on mine. I did need a new NOX sensor at 141 miles but i assume there was no way to tell, until it tried to do its first regen. Mine also had 40 miles on it... which i guess i am glad it was at least driven since it had a build date of 2-15-11 but not purchased until 8-19-11. Just hope it was good fuel ran through there......... If i were you i would be raising hell with my dealer and at least getting a couple free oil changes from them. At least then they will know where to find the dipstick.
I always thought they filled with oil, ran new engine after the build, dumped the oil, added fresh and drove it to the lot.
Since it's obvious your truck wasn't checked, I sure would like to know this process.

Only problem is that I bought the truck in upstate NY where I'm from and my business is located. However I live in South FL so I had to bring it in here. I definitely understand you on hoping your truck was driven which was a good thing, if yours had other squwaks I'm assuming they would have been noticed. At this point I wouldn't want a lifetime of free oil changes from a dealer that didn't notice a missing dipstick!

Thats definitely something that I would have noticed too. Not the worst thing wrong but I expect perfection for 60K+.
My grocery getter has been flawless at two years and 30k miles. I can understand your frustration. Such a little thing as you have discovered says a lot about the delivery process of your truck. $60k + for a pickup truck? There is no amount of anything that can be bolted to a production pickup truck to make it worth $60k. Especially considering the cheap non union labor to build the engine. Where's the saving on the cost of labor?
Defective transmission on my custom ordered 2011 Job 2 F350. Major ATF leak from the very start. The trucked ended up with a whole new transmission, pulled out of another truck on the lot, and after being in the shop for 18 days. For the full story, see this link.
