Did the Cary special on my truck. However, I jacked up the whole thing by referencing one of the threads on here or maybe another forum for the spring part numbers instead of asking Cary.
So, I ordered the following from ford:
2C3Z-5310-HA for the front and
3C3Z-5560-CB for the back.
It turns out I should have ordered CA's for the back, not CB's.
Does anyone have info on the CB's since I'm pretty committed to them now? Clearly alot of people have installed them, but apparently they have left my back end a few inches low. We actually like the leveled look now rather than having the back jacked up more but I'm concerned about the CB's performance. i.e. Load rating, towing, ride
Oh, and here was the before picture when I picked it up.
PS. Cary rocks. I probably called him 20 times over the past few days and his expertise is incredible. Anyone who is interested in improving their x, call Cary. Oh, and make sure you get all the part numbers you need from him!!
He usually goes by OBSWIZ or caryt for a screen name. I've met him, and he's very knowledgeable with X suspension. Nice guy too. I check out his site every so often just to see what's going on.
You could do the B mod to gain 1-1.5" back. You use the bottom two smallest leafs from the Ex leaf pack and the thicker shims out of the Ex leaf pack on the new springs.
Well, good and bad. He replied back when I emailed over my part number. Thankfully I did use the springs that are basically the same thing (as Stewart said).
Red x, I did do the b-mod.
My issue is that the rear shocks were 100% compressed. After emailing Cary a picture he saw that the company who installed the original lift kit repositioned the rear axle shock mounts and welded them in place. Off to a welder on monday.
If you like the stance great and if not it would be easy to add a few inches by going with 4" block. If you need any pictures showing where the shock mounts should be just send me a PM with your email address and I can send them. Once you get it fixed I will be interested to hear you impressions.
Looking at the shop manual it appears that the angle should be about 90 deg between the bottom of the shock mount and the shock itself. Does that seem correct?

They are rotated a little more than that. The back side of the bracket is roughly at 45 degrees to the ground.
