Ball joints/tierod ends

Does anyone know if you can drill, tap, and install grease fittings into OEM ball joints and/or tie rod ends? I've used the needle thru the dust boot but that doesn't get inside the piece where the movement and wear & tear actually occurs.

They are filled when built which creates a problem for your idea. Once you pop through with the drill bit a bunch of metal shavings are going in with it. The grease will grab them and the bit will come out clean. Since you have no way to get the grease or shavings out I think you will be creating a larger problem. These are usually inexpensive pieces to replace.

Agreed, you can replace them fairly cheap , 200 bucks isn't alot considering the issues you may cause
