Toasted PCM/ECU

I just got the call from the dealership today and they are telling my PCM is toasted ( they pulled it out and water came out) I need to get a new one or have mine rebuilt. Does anyone know of good place to get a new one or have it rebuilt and if so have some performance put in it?
Thanks

I believe a few guys have used these folks:
ACE Superstore | Buy Cheaper Auto Computers
eBay is another alternative, or car-part.com

As far as getting some performance out of your truck your best bet there is to get a custom chip to install.

Are you sure it was the PCM and not the IDM? Never heard of the PCM getting water in it since it is inside the cab. Water in the IDM is not at all uncommon.

The dealership told me it was the PCM, they asked me if my windshield leaked to cause the water. The windshield does not leak, never had wet floor mats or had the widows fog from humidity. I am baffled how the water got in there too.

The windshield leaking way has toasted a pcm before. One reason I need to get mine fixed. I think it was TJ beggs who had that happen.

Yeah, I have heard the same thing about the leaking windshield flooding the PCM, I just wanted to make sure that you were getting the right parts.

Request to see the part. Request that they show you where it was located. Given the age of our trucks, I wouldn't be surprised at a service department getting the PCM and IDM mixed up; honest mistake. Most dealership service departments are "pediatricians"; they're used to working on vehicles up to about 7-8 years old.

You can use a auto PCM with a 5 speed and you have a chip burned for a 5 speed so that will make the auto PCM a Manuel PCM

Kinda OT, but what were your symptoms that the dealer said it's a toasted PCM?

I'm with Madpogue, I think the dealer is a stealership. If your windshield isn't leaking then.........
