351 Buildup
This will be my 1st 351 buildup, I have done a few other engines, a 300 I6, a couple ford V6's, and (yuck) rebuilt my dads 350 for him. I am looking for some reccomendations on how to build the 351 for a really good street/strip combo. I would like to do as much as possible with the stock heads, stock (shot peened) rods, crank micro polished, tufftrided, chamfered oil holes, Porting/Polishing of the heads, roller rockers, High comp. pistons, cam, valve job, intake, headers, etc. I am looking for some tips on what will work good as a combo, the truck will NOT be a daily driver, so I can go as high on compression as the stock rods will allow. What compression ratio would be good to shoot for?
According to info I gathered, the stock compression with the 1970 heads is 9.5:1, with 59cc heads.
I am also looking for info on what ratio rockers to go with, and what lift and duration. Any tips on a good intake would be helpful as well.
That was a lot... any help at all would be appreciated, or maybe links to someone who has built an engine this way.
How far can this block be overbored, I have seen .060... is this reliable?
THanks
Dan
