01 excape misfire

01 excape misfire
Ok. This may seem long winded but please read ahead. 01 Escape v6 started running rough- got a cyl 4 and 6 misfire. Changed fuel filter- no change. Changed plugs and upper/lower intake gaskets while apart- no change. Pulled back apart and replaced ALL coils- no change. Put on all new injectors- yet again no change. Tried putting a new ECU and still no change. I still get a cylinder 4 and 6 misfire. I don't know what else I can change. Oh, and I did clear the codes each time a part was replaced. Could I need a new wiring harness? If so where can I get one? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you happen to notice what the 4 and 6 spark plugs looked like when you removed them? If they were dry and 'tan', more or less, then they had been firing. If they were a different color, check around here and there for a 'plug reading chart' to see if they were oil or gas fouled, or had been firing.
You can check the harness from the COP to the PCM using a VOM. Color by color. Expect near to zero Ohms on each wire. You can do the same thing for the wires for the injectors.
Another thing to do is check the compression. I'd check the front 3 cylinders, and if there were significant differences, I'd check the rear 3 also. As the two cylinders with misfire are not adjacent, a head gasket failure between cylinders is unlikely. Does the hose from the radiator to the engine get very hard when the engine has run for a while? If so, you could have a leak of combustion gas into the cooling system.
