How big should the alternator be - since it now appears I have to replace mine?
I notice that they're 1) REALLY expensive 2) rated differently.
So I see 92 and 130 Amp models, which is required for the truck? (2000 Ranger - no AC), and is there a reason why getting a larger one would cause problems? Would getting a larger one be simply a waste of money?
if you don't have aftermarket lights or aftermarket high output amps for a stereo or other high amp equipment, there really is no reason to use a high amp alternator.
