I had to replace the fuel pump in my van.

I knew that there are codes for discounts at the parts stores.

I got the pump assembly from Advance Auto Parts.

Here is what I did;
I had the local store order one in from the warehouse.
It arrived the next day.(yesterday)

I then went online and ordered the assembly.

The price was the same online or in the store.

However I had a code (BIG50) for an online discount.
$50.00 off a purchase of $200.00 or more.

The assembly is $202.99
Price online comes to $152.99 And they forgot to add tax.

10 minutes after I order it I'm picking the assembly up at the store.

And it's $64.21 (25/30%) less than if I paid the person at the counter.

 

And the point is????? This happens all the time.... enjoy shopping on line. Want an even better deal? Most of the time you can find a better price on Amazon.com. Use the P/N and plug it into the Google search engine.

 

oh yes, they are ways to lower prices online. ive gotten a 60$ iPhone battery for 7$

 

I guess that the point I was trying to make is that a bit of knowledge can save time and BUCKS.
I worked the system fairly and saved.
I did not have to deal with a person asking me what year, make, model, engine, while they click on the computer.
I called the store and asked if they had the assembly; Part#E2206S.
They checked their computer and answered that they had none. I knew this already as I have a computer too.
I then asked them to order the assembly for me.
The person clicked on their computer and one was to arrive the next day.
THE NEXT DAY:
I call the store and yes the assembly arrived only a hour or so before.
I log-in to my account and order the assembly for pick up at store. This takes 3/4 minutes.
I log out and drive the ½ mile to the store.
I step in and say hello and ask if my order was available.
Why Yes it just appeared on the computer not a minute earlier.
They print out a receipt for me to sign and one for me to keep.
I'm out of the store with the assembly in 3 minutes.

And I saved a nice bit of the price.

If you checked the links I posted you will see that I wanted the folks here at FTE to get a chance at the discounts.

 

I buy many things like you. Its there for everyone to use but most don't take the time to find the deals.I'll use the coupons you posted. Thanks for the links.
