help help help!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have a 1966 Ford Galaxy LTD with a 352 FE. MSD distributor, coil, wires and 6AL ignition control. edelbrock performer 390 intake manifold. edelbrock victor series water pump. Holley mechanical fuel pump 110gph. Holley Double Pumper, not sure what size but the primary jet size is 67H and secondary jets 73H. Ford Powertrain custom shorty headers (2 1/2 outlet) with flowtech purple hornies header muffler 3" in and out. Im having some timing and carb problems. #1- What is the best timing degrees, and how do i adjust the air/fuel screws on my carb? #2- how do i found out the size of my carb? #3-does anyone see any other problems with my motor set up. Thanks for the help guys its much appreciated!!!

Is this all piled on top of an otherwise stock (and worn out?) 352?
A double pumper carb isn't meant for this application.
QUESTION How do I know if a vacuum or mechanical carburetor is best for me?
ANSWER For street cars the vacuum secondary carburetor works best on midweight or heavyweight cars with an automatic transmission. They are more forgiving than a Double Pumper is because they work by sensing engine load. The mechanical secondary carburetor is best on a lighter car with radical camshaft and a lower gear and manual transmission or on a car that is going to be used for racing purposes

You are dumping more fuel into it than it can use. Your carb may also be way oversized.
If you have a stock cam, your 352 will probably never be north of 5000 rpm, maybe not even 4500. A 600 cfm carb is plenty for that motor.
As for idle screw adjustment, turn them in, then out 1 1/2 turns. Adjust for best idle, then turn them 1/4 turn in.
Timing: factory might have 6 degrees for a 2bbl regular fuel motor, about 9 or 9.5 compression, or 12 degrees for a 4bbl premium fuel motor, 10-10.1 compression. Start at 6 and go as far as you can without pinging--probably around 8 or 10.
