Put in my new built trans, torqued everything down, added some fluid and it won't take fluid or move the truck. Any ideas? I have a 2001 f250 4x4 automatic trans. It had a higher stall converter and suncoast internals. I'm stumped any help would be awesome.
How much fluid did it take initially? Did you cycle through each gear to purge air out of the transmission? When replacing a transmission, you really need to make sure it is "burped". Also did you add fluid to the converter before installing?
I ran through all gears with around 16 quarts in. Started to come out of the breather hose on top of the trans so I figured somthing was wrong. It has a bigger cooler so I figured it holds 19ish quarts. I was not told to fill the converter beforehand shouldn't it fill pretty quickly?
