Not to discourage you F100Dave. I hope you didnt pay to much for that. The vin# should be stamped on the passanger top frame rail. It should be just ahead of the front shock tower or somwhere between radiator support and the cab the other one should be under the cab. Good luck with it.

That looks like a '64 or earlier frame. Possibly a '65 frame since it is a 4x4.
With a '65/'66 2WD cab jerry-rigged into place.
The 352, a little brother to the 390 would be the correct engine if it is a '65.
It looks like that frame VIN is going to be very important.

That looks like a Garbz want to be that didn't have the funds to go to school & take the classes.

In pic 4, the VIN should be just under the edge of the plastic, on the top of the rail like the others said.

Looks like you might have enough parts to use with another truck for a nice project.

Qurious, what did ya have to give for it???

Frankenstein monster. Looks like someone took a '65/66 2WD Custom Cab (C/C), then attempted to convert it to 4WD by swapping in front end, steering parts from what appears to be a '67/77 F250 4WD High Boy.

Similar: The Pitman Arm mounts vertically on the outside of the frame rail, the draglink connects to the Pitman Arm. High Boys have front leaf springs, could have 6 or 9 leafs.

It originally was a 1965/66 F100 or F250 2WD, because: The only 1961/66 4WD that used a 2WD cab (flat floor pan w/o a step) and the 1964/66 Styleside bed were 1966 F100 4WD's, that had coil spring front suspension.

The brake and clutch pedals and pads are 1964/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD. 4WD C/C's have 18" 4 spoke steering wheels. No horn ring was available, just a horn button.

2WD C/C's have 17" 3 spoke steering wheels with a horn ring.

Numbers that is impressive...all that from a couple pics. I didn't buy this to try and make a show truck...

The motor is a crate motor, I have the paper work for it, and I have the fenders, hood, and rad in the garage. The bed is good, but the tailgate is shot. Need to get core support and inner fenders..

Thanks for the info all...

As I suspected:
Vin's frame #f26D 601030 = F-250 4x4 with a 352 FE made in early Oct '64. The assembly plant code is missing after the D.

Cab #f10YE820640 = F-100 2WD with a 352 FE made in the Mahwah, NJ plant in February '66.
Note that a 390 and 352 look identical on the outside. Only a technical specification such as a stroke measurement will tell the difference.

If I may suggest, I would recommend you consider selling the '66 cab - it looks to be in good shape rust wise, and could bring a good amount of money. '65 and and '66 cabs are hard to come by.
A '61-'64 cab is easier to come by, and is the proper fit for your frame - if I remember correctly. (This wouldn't be true for a '66 4x4 by the way.)

66 F100 4x4 uses same cab he has now. I can tell you that the 65F100 4x4 cab and the 66 F250 4x4 cab are not the same as the 61-63 (64)? F100 F250 4x4 cabs. The roof lines are different if you are looking for an exact match. Early cabs have a flat roof newer have a roof line with an indentation through the middle. I am restoring one of each.

is there a vin on the cab? The gauge cluster isn't the cluster I've seen in the 66 cabs, it looks like one out of a earlier truck, not to say it wasn't changed.

Since historically, new vehicle introduction begins in September of the previous year, production begins in August.

Pitman Arms: C3TZ-3504-N: 1963/65 F100/250 4WD; 1966 F250 4WD with 3,000 lb. front axle capacity // C3TZ-3590-M: 1963/66 F250 4WD w/3,500 lb. front axle capacity, 1963/66 F350.

C6TZ-3590-K: 1966/75 F100 4WD / C7TZ-3590-D: 1967/75 F250 4WD.

Steering gearboxes: C3TZ-3504-S: 1963/65 F100/250 4WD; 1966 F250 4WD / C7TZ-3504-M: 1966/72 F100 4WD / C7TZ-3504-A: 1967/75 F250 4WD.

Cab swap: Now we know why it has a 1965/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD cab and 1964/66 brake/clutch pedals and pads.

The only V8 offered in 1965/67 F100/350's was the 352 2V. 360/390 first offered in F100/350's in 1968, used thru 1976.

4WD V8's: 1965/67 352; 1968/76: 360 2V. The 390 was not factory installed with 4WD, and no 390 came with a 4V in F100/350's until 1974 (VIN engine code M) and then only as an option.

btw: In case y'all are unaware, 1961/65 serial numbers apply to all US Trucks and Econolines, not just to F Series trucks.

1966 serial numbers apply to all US & Canadian trucks, Econolines and Bronco's.

So..I don't follow, if the 66 cab can be used in either 4x4 or 2wd, why did they have to cut the floor to fit the 4x4 shifter? I'm guessing the motor isn't out of either the 66 or the 64 frame?

You need to pay close attention to the year, series and drivetrain.

You have a '65 4WD frame. (I didn't make it very clear that an Oct '64 date is a '65 model year - but Mr. Number Dummy remedied that for us.) It is similar to the '61-'64 2WD frames, so a '61-'64 2WD cab will fit your frame.

The '65-'66 2WD frames and cabs are similar to each other and will interchange with each other, but a '65 4WD frame and cab are not the same as a '66 F-100 4WD frame and cab. There is no interchangeability between '65 4WD and '65 2WD or '66 F-100 4WD.

Please note that for simplicity's sake, I left out the series differences between F-100, F-250 and F-350.
This is confusing until you list it all out like Mr. Number Dummy has done, and examine it carefully.
