Green Coolant

Ok had my oil cooler and egr cooler (BPD) replaced.
Popped the hood looked at the coolant and it is green, great. Went into to talk to the service manager and he informed me that that is what they use for all diesels. My question is there any green coolant approved for the 6.0. This not the Ford dealership it is a fleet shop. Thanks. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I don't know of any green coolants that are approved for the 6.0. So I would ask the shop manager to identify his product, and then show him why it is not the correct stuff for your truck.

The alternative is to just do a new flush yourself using the procedure you will find here in the tech folder. Because I can assure you that the shop did not do it to our satifaction. And you will never get them to do it right.

get the green stuff out as soon as u can. the ford gold coolant is the only thing certified to prevent ur cooling system from corrosion.

I don't think there is any damage done after a few days. The question that needs to be asked is whether they used the VC-9 to clean the block. I'll bet they didn't, and so I think you should do that. That will do a good job of cleaning up anything left over from the green coolant.

Do a search on the Motorcraft Gold, and the ELC alternatives. Then make your own decision on what you want to run.
