Power steering fitting

It's got a crack behind the shoulder and I'm patching it up with teflon tape, but can find another fitting
To find it locally where you are, um, maybe a tractor or farm implement supply store?
I've been told that when they made the change between powersteering pumps, they used this fitting and kept the lines the same.
Mine is a 1984 F100 351C, I gues that's gonna make it difficult for you to find a part if you search that because the first thing they'll tell you is they dont exist. I dunno if the 150, 250 and 350s are the same
It's not so much that there's nothing listed for a 1984 F100 (which never existed in the US) with a 351C (the 351C was never installed in trucks here) but, rather, all those fittings seem to have hoses already attached to them - at least according to what I'm finding in the catalog.
It looks to me like you'd need a Basic Part Number of 3A719 but, again, they all seem to have hoses attached (or so it seems).
So, I'm gonna ask Bill (NumberDummy) to help, he's The Mastah at all this stuff and did it for a living for 30-some years, he'll be the best to maybe find something more specific....

Falcons/Fairlanes had the Sag pump, and Clevo's but:
The 6Cyl ran a steel line directly from the pump
The 8Cyl ran a hose from the pump out towards the rear of the car and along the cross-member. (these things have a similar chassis to a 67-73 Muzzy.
Mine runs a steel line infront of the cross-member to the front of the pump, then a hose from there to the the back of the pump and has this right-angle fitting to make it all work.
What a **** up.
I'm thinking about attempting to make my own fitting from a billet. I'll make the ID a little smaller and it'll be stronger, too.
I had my hose replaced but the kents charged me $75 for 10" of hose and two crimped fittings.
I'm thinking maybe getting a hose from a Fairland we have in the paddock (if it is in good cond) and cut thatto length so it goes straigth in the back of the pump then 270 degrees aound to the front, and get them to crimp the correct fitting on there.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
USA
1) Saginaw Pump, used on 1975 and later Econolines and 1970's Passenger Cars w/Hydro-Boost.
2) 1965/77: The Ford P/S pump has a steel reservoir. The P/S Pressure Hose has a female end, threads onto the fitting on the pump that has a male end.
3) 1978 and later. The Ford P/S pump has a plastic reservoir. The P/S Pressure Hose has a straight end w/an O-Ring on it. Connects to the pump w/a qwik dis-connect fitting.
Edit...I shoulda read thru this thread before I typed this jazz...cuz it's a Saginaw pump. It ain't from a 1970's car, cuz the fitting doesn't match up.
Gonna look in the truck parts catalogs...
OP...where is this fitting? On the pump or on the gearbox? Cuz, if it's on the pump, you will see we cannot help you.
Russell Performance - Power Steering Adapter Fittings
You need to first figure out what thread the o-ring side is. They have
1/2-20 o-ring seal
9/16-18 o-ring seal
5/8-18 0-ring seal
11/16-o-ring seal
They also have metric threads on these also.
This refers to the thread on that nut that slides around on the 0-ring side of your fitting. You can try regular hex nuts on this fitting to see what threads on.
The other side looks like a 45 degree fitting. The hydraulic fittings go by 1/16ths. So a #6 fitting is 6/16ths or 3/8. A #8 fitting would be 8/16 or 1/2 line and fitting.
I see they don't show a 90 degree fitting(they may have them and I didn't look hard enough) but once you get it converted to the angled flare fitting, I am sure you can find a swivel 90 flare to screw onto the adapter and provide the spot for the hose to connect.
I first ran into this with my 83 f 350 with a 400. I thought the fitting was cracked too, and spent lots of time and money trying to fix it. Finally a friend had a hose for a c-30 sitting on his bench. He jokingly said it needed a chevy part to make it right, and screwed it on, and it worked!!!. I cut the hose in half, then the ford hose in half, used an a/c repair fitting and clamps, and never had another problem
