If he lifted the front with blocks, you need to remove the blocks. A front lift for a truck with leaf springs should be spring only.
as you suggested i got rid of the blocks and the extra leafs and installed a new mini leaf spring kit. rides great and soft now) heres a pic of the mini leafs. thanks again
I thought I told you to get that FRAM off of there
Whats the back suspension look like?
Im not infinitely rich. Lol. the time and money to do the mini leaf install was alot. But i will do the filter and oil this weekend. Any certain oil you suggest?
I prefer Mobile 1 synthetic. If your sticking with conventional, Go with a trusted name of oil (Valvoline, Castrol, ect). Motorcraft synthetic blend oil is same price as most major brands, and a good 'middle of the road' oil. I would advise staying away from Pennzoil.
also, no 'house brand' filters either. Our Microgaurd brand filter is made by Fram as well. Same junk for a cheaper price, lol. I advise Wix/Motorcraft or better. The mobile 1 filter I run pushes $13 bucks over the counter. small price to pay for all the work that filter does for your engine.

Any good quality oil will be good for your motor. I use Shell Rotella T6 (Full Synthetic) but the Rotella T5 (Semi Synthetic) is good too. As long as its a good diesel engine oil you should be ok.
Like said above, Motorcraft filters are the best you can get for your motor.

Oh sorry. Well then same deal, any good synthetic motor oil will be good for you.
What I did when I first bought mine was changed the oil using Motorcraft oil because I wanted new oil in it, but didnt have time to research what oil I wanted to use, so I went with the safe answer.

wow your truck must have huge axle wrap if driving in sand or in snow. you really should not stack blocks. up front is more critical because of weight transfer when braking and steering, better off loosing the blocks/mini spring packs all together and getting a good lift kit...i know, a lot of us have tight budgets now. anyhow, the mini spring pack up front (first i heard of it) is that designed to flex a bit compared to a ridgid block that would want to tilt under load??
Mini packs aren't really a new thing and are a great option. They are cheap and a lot safer than blocks in the front. I agree that the beat option is a full spring lift, but somepeople cant spend that kind of money. I know I can't. I was lucky that my truck came with a leveling kit on the front. But unfortunately it's a lift/level and the lift is achieved by stacked blocks in the rear. I plan on fixing that.
