There has been a lot of discussion about headlights lately. One thread discussed rigging up your own Brite Box setup and many people complained about the cost of the Brite Box. My question is, where are you guys finding it available for the 2011 trucks? Is it the same unit that is used on the 2008-2010 trucks? I haven't been able to find a listing anywhere for the 2011 application.
I'm going to ask a weird question here. I thought the primary function of the Brite Box was to turn on low and high beam headlights at the same time. Looks like they sell another box that also allows the fogs to come on too.
Here is the question. We use H13 lamps in our truck for hi/lo. In order to go from low to high and vice versa, isn't it only one bulb and the bulb is either pulled or pushed into position for high or low beam? There is no separate bulb for each function. Correct? So how does the Brite Box pull that off?
Unless I'm missing something, the bulb does not move. The 2 filaments in the bulb are in different positions.
I'm not certain on the anatomy of a H13 halogen bulb, but the H13 HID bulb is one filament that is pulled or pushed into position by an electromagnet (I'm guessing it is an electromagnet because the base is magnetic).
I have the Brite Box for the 2011. Confirmed with Innova it will work without issue but haven't had time to install it yet. Yes, it will enable the highs, lows, and fogs to run at the same time. I asked the same question on the extra heat. They claimed they have not received any complaints, however, one user on FTE stated you must be moving to dissipate the heat and not have them all on when stopped.

Can you provide the model number of your Brite Box? Is it the same model used for the 08-10 trucks?
Model number is: Brite Box Model F8.FLC.5P. Price was $254.99. I called them before ordering and confirmed with the rep that it was for the 2011 specifically. They were good to deal with and while shipping to Ontario wasnt the fastest the product arrived safe and sound. Contact info shown below.

Get that sucker installed! I'm curious how well it works!
I hear you marauder92v ..... I have had it now for over 2 months but no time to get it in. Could have used it several times on the trip to the Smoky's/TN in August. If I wasn't so particular I would get a jobber to do the install but I'm afraid I would just redo it. Give me a couple of weeks.
DrewF .... $250 is cheap if you cant build one yourself. Look above I have had mine for 2months now and not even enough time to install it let alone build one from scratch. Keep in mind a CANBus to me is a large people mover that operates in Canada
It does have the upgraded ceramic connectors on it and the heavy guage wire ..... all made proudly in the USA if you read their website. I guess if they went for the Asian made version it would be better at $24.99 but it is what it is my friend
