I was wonderimg if someone could point me in the direction of the safest or cheapest cold air setup and where to get a chip or which tuner is best...i will be doing 3inch dp next week..itry to do one thing at a time...also was looking for thoughts on part store injector orings and ebay hpops
Well more just seeking out good aftermarket replacement items...ill prolly never step past stage 1s but id like to see more smoke for sure...i run offroad fuel and dont see much...the most ill ever tow is a wrangler and a 4runner... I just like to keep the truck real reliable... maybe send the hpop for rebuild??? I dont. Need to drive it everyday just choose to
To be honest I got a lot of engine shake on cold idle and sure feels like a constant small misfire under no load I'm making my way to gather all necessary items for under valve cover work.. just trying to gather other items to help along the way more power maintance things of that nature
Smoke is bad and will dilute your oil quicker. Keep in mind smoke is partially burnt fuel and will hurt your fuel mileage. I would look at some gauges next before a chip and solve the miss as well. I would do orings
Well I run off road because of the price differance...I also already have gauges the was priorty number one... thanks for the advice sure do appreicate all the help I've gotten from what a well mannered paitent group of ford followers
The motor from what I can see has never been opened with 285k.. I did the waterpump a few months ago and did the cps just because only to find a oe ford part... also last fuel filter change filter was very black surrounded by clean fuel...this is what led me to believe inj o rings were prolly shot
Im a heavy truck tech so being around huei engines is nothing new I just like to get as many pieces of advice and opinions as possible. Thanks all again for your tim and patience
well that black stuff around your filter could be oil or just a very dirty filter mine was like that and i changed it and looked at it after 600 miles and its clean, i dont blow smoke and my oil is clean still after 400 miles it looks like it just but it in there and i dont know why its still so clean but yea get that air filter 6637 and the down pipe and some exhaust open her up a bit.
Yea dp will def be here this week...cat and muff are already gone....this truck sat around for a long *** time ..im on a very small budget so it's one thing at a time thats why I'm trying to gather all the uvc parts and just knock out everything at once...I'm putting this truck up for winter if I can no need for any more rust belt destruction
A good bypass oil filter will take out most of the soot out of the oil that is produced by 'blowing' smoke. Sometimes it can't be helped when your pulling hard to see the black stuff in your mirror! I did all day today, darn head wind.
