My 72 ford f100 v8 302 is abeast when running... But as of yesterday it wont even turn over. Ive tried jumping it off to no avail... Not only is it not running but when i try cranking it up the wires connected to the terminals get really hot, and even have melted some of the rubber off. I think it might be the starter but havent checked yet. and yes i have cleaned and brushed all ground wires and cleaned corrosion off. And while im at it what is easiest way to straightpipe this beast?

Which terminals? Ya talkin about the battery cables?
Straight pipe? "Easiest" is to cut off before the muffler. The right way is to section in new tubing. Why do you want to straight pipe it? Loud and obnoxious is just that.
yeah its the battery cables... and my cilanoid might be the culperate i think. and yeah loud is best. it idles rough sometimes but when its smooth itd be a monster if it had straightpipes on it. thanks for any more info also
alright i will try that when i get home from school tomorrow. p.s. thanks for help! and i want to hook a radio up in the truck nut the wires are mix matched and crossed... does anyone know of a blueprint of the truck because oreilys does not carry any for my year and cannot be ordered... its a 72 ford f100 v8 302 i really have a lot of ideas for this truck and am gonna need a lot of advise along the way of this restoration. thanks in advance , very helpful so far!
Beast get a circuit tester like the one in the photo. It is very useful with an old truck, hunting for hot wires. You go under the dash and if you see a dangling wire you test it to see if it is hot, both with & without the key being on. radios use a key on circuit. It helps when tail lights don't work.
alright thank you great info. and ill try and get ahold of one of those i actually think my step dad has one. and hey do you know what would be the best way to lift my truck? i want it to have a lift and have a few ideas but new info and ideas always are good! thanks
