The engine and trans. in my truck is coming out if anyone needs one. Trans. is going away (slips into 3rd, I am assuming the valve body separator plate is the culprit), but the engine runs so strong, doesn't smoke, idles smooth, never an issue. Come drive it if you need an engine. Make me an offer or trade?

 

Are you sure the transmission id a 5R55e or a 5R44e? At least by 2008 the 2.3 and 3.0 L engines were hooked up to the 5R44e. The 5R44e is a lighter duty version of the 5R55e, which is used with the 4.0 engine.

 

Yeah Michigan, you are probably right, I am not a Ranger guy, so you would probably know better than I would.

Someone told me it was a 55 and I obviously believed them. Someone else also said an easy way to differentiate is the lack of a dipstick on one. This one has a dipstick.
