my van has an idle of 1200rpm (1991 e150 5.0 efi aod) i have tried everything to get it down. cleaned iac and ports on intake, cleaned throttle body, replaced egr and sensor also cleaned ports on intake, removed throttle cable, all vacume lines are hooked up. installed new throttle body gasket, new iac gasket, new egr gasket, turned idle screw. no change. could i have sucked in the gasket between upper and lower intake?? when replacing this gasket do you use rtv or just clean intakes real good and install gasket. both mounting surfaces are like new (last time i had it apart) it has been 2 years since i had intakes apart and this high idle thing just started. also i need to know how to reset the throttle body back to factory position. i installed a new tps and anyone who has replaced one knows that you can install them in the wrong position (to much movement one way or the other) i know the tps should read .9 volts but if the throtle body is out of adjustment you cant accurately set tps voltage. the throttle arm where it touches idle screw (that is not to be adjusted)looks like it has been bent in twards the screw a bit. what is the proper way to reset throttle body and then set tps is there mesurements for setting throttle body (mesurements between throttle body butterflys and actual throttle boar) (amount of screw turns witch on mine will not be correct now if the arm is bent)(amount of cfm`s that flow through throttle body when set in rite position) . say the throttle body was in factory position and you just replaced the tps is there a way to test tps to see if it is in the correct position before it is installed back on the upper intake manifold?
i have sprayed all areas accept plenum and no idle change
could a leaking egr pipe cause this i repaired that pipe 2 years ago (riged with a piece of pipe) i also have new coolant temp sensor installed.. thanks for reading this book i just wrote lol
