302 valve adjustment

Good morning..I am new to this forum and see a lot of folks that know there stuff. I have a 1940 ford pickup with a 1970 302 and C4 trany. My question is, I am getting noice from the lifters at about 2000 rpm. sounds like one is floating on me and out of adjustment. What is the best way to adjust the lifters ? Can I adjust them like a chevy ? Back off until I hear clater then 1/2 turn down ? The shaft is strait no positive stop. They are hydrolic lifters..Help is much appreciated. Thank you.

With the non-positive stop studs 1/2 turn past clatter will work well.
