Hmmm, was poking around the engine the engine today (2004 Excursion 6.O PSD) and found a disconnected wire and connector. It comes out of the same wire bundle and is very close to the EGR valve. The connector is blue and is the same snap on style as the EGR. The wires themselves are yellow w/white stripe and gray. The wire has only about 6" in length. I can't find find ANYTHING that this sucker should be plugged into. Any ideas?
Sadly no pic, the digital camera decided to go for a swim off the boat a few weeks ago. The wire was actually tucked down behind the EGR valve. It is only maybe 6-8" long and has the blue "accordian" surround. It has the exact same type of clip connector that the EGR has. I will try to see if I can get a pic uploaded via the smart phone. Thanks
Chances are you have an early motor that had the throttle body. Programming to control the butterfly was removed very early on, as it was determined to be an unnecessary component. A lot of guys change the intake elbow and the throttle body goes in the trash, leaving the electrical connector for it dangling around the intake elbow.
I still have mine and this is the connector attached.
You are Correct!! While out in the garage a few minutes ago I finally found what it plugged into. It is hidden between the alternator and the fan shroud. (didnt know what it was, but at least knew it plugged in there) Thanks for the info!
