I cant for the life of me find a way to change it. in the nav screen or on the phone itself. Everything else works great! but missing texts gets on the wife's nerves! especially on the way home im told to grab some thing from the store and my phone doesn't ding. OPPs! Any help??

Same here...I just leave it in the cup holder and pick it up periodically to check if I've missed anything. It is annoying, but I have no idea how to fix it.

Ya, we know that, but this is about the phone being silenced when paired with the Sync headunit....texts, emails, etc inbound to the phone have no audio notification through the phone or otherwise.

The only way to get audio notifications from the iPhone are if you select Bluetooth In under the Media section and are actually playing music off your iPod/Pandora/YouTube. Also, you will get iPhone notifications if you have it plugged in via USB. There's no way around this that I have found.

Like others, I just pick up the phone periodically and check it for texts.

Could be that Ford and/or Apple does not want that feature to work when you are driving?

My Droid X did it, and I found it annoying as I get a lot of texts from our monitoring system at work, so I turned it off in the menu options for phone options.

I now have an iphone4, and never bothered to see if it worked with it or not.

I remember reading it wont sync text, but dont recall reading that it wouldnt at least notify you of a text.

I guess I'll test it on mine, I have a regular radio, no nav.

I noticed the same behavior. I assume it is because of the potential liability of texting and driving at the same time. I am out of town right now and won't be back until the weekend. I haven't tried or noticed whether a text message will notify if the truck is in park? I'll try that this weekend unless someone else has already tried it and knows the answer.

I tried this morning, and the radio says unsupported...which I believe the other posts also are seeing.

Maybe when the iPhone supports text to speech it might work the way we want.

Seems like it does sometimes vibrate if I have in it my pocket (no audible notification). But this isn't always consistent. Often I just happen to look at it and a text has appeared. Annoying. edit - mines a 3gs.

I was dissapointed that the iPhone 4 isn't sync/text supported.
I'm hoping a software patch in the future will correct this.
