03 u should just need the radio removal tool it looks almost like two little horse shoes. u just slide them in in the two holes on each side of the radio and pull it out.

Call Crutchfield and ask them they will tell you exactly how to remove the old radio

Get the two "U's" insert them in the holes on the side of the H/U then push each one outwards and then inwards to loosen the clips up. After they are loose you need to push the tools to the outside and pull the H/U out at the same time, doesn't hurt to wiggle it to free it up. You also need to make sure they are inserted pretty far into the holes.

It's fairly easy to remove. Mine did get hung up on one of the sides. Also, my clip on the wiring harness snapped off when I pushed it due to age. Zip tied the new one on and it's good to go.

I have been doing my own stereo installs since 1980 and my 03 f350 was one of the easiest one I've ever done. I bought my latest HU thru Crutchfields and they are amazing to work with. They included the clips to pull the stock HU with the kit when I bought my new HU.
