Mine was ordered the end of July - Truck was built and supposed to be delivered to the dealer on September 5 - Still have not seen it - getting frustrated
Wow this is totally not cool and the reason the majority of people settle for something off the lot. This time last year I was waiting for mine. It was supposed to take 6 weeks and took about 5.5 weeks. It's worth waiting to get exactly what you want, but at going on 9 weeks it has to get old.
I completely agree that a custom ordered truck gets you everything you want. I usually do it this way. But this time I happened to be at the dealer when they were delivering trucks from the cargo hauler (April '11). I saw an F250 that had everything I wanted plus more. The A plan price was right and I couldn't believe what they were offering me for my '05 6.0. So I bought it right then and there, and glad I did this time, I am now spoiled with all the extra features I probably would not have ordered!
I never have understood much about the order/build process.
When I ordered mine it took 12 weeks but many came in in half that time with more recent order dates.
My dealer is a big volume truck dealer and they had plenty of slots.
Sometimes that's an issue with the smaller dealers.
It's as if a certain percentage of orders accidently get dropped on the floor and then collected by the cleaning crew at the end of the week and put back on the bottom.
(I realize that's not true but it's what I thought about.)

Reason: typo...
Ordered mine 7-7-11, arrived 8-30, took delivery 8-31.
Lucky. I also need mine for work - so this is going to start screwing things up pretty soon here. And of course hunting season is here - dang priorities.
Mine is a supercab loaded lariot with a long bed, not many around here. Not looking for sympathy but this is the second order and supposidly was to be expidited. The first was ordered in May, delivered 4 July and immediatly hit in the lot over the weekend. I estimate 10k damage and just returned from the body shop last week.
I had my first one transferred from 2 states away, my second one built in 5 weeks. The 2011 was sitting at the Ford dealership right next to Sonic where I go for lunch 2 or 3 times a week. After about a month I couldn't stand it anymore and bought it. It had more than I wanted and nothing that I didn't want.
I feel for you guys waiting!! But you will never have to say "I wish I would have ........ ".
Do you know what they are doing with the other truck you ordered? They can't sell that as new right?
Its on the lot now. They say that they have to disclose the damage. I suggested they use it as a demo. Since its not worth what a new truck is, why not lrt folks get to take it on decent test drives.
