ouch...somewhere along the East coast?

the weather lately means that quite a few lemons are going to be hitting the streets within the next year. I hope guys are pulling up carpets and checking for water damage when they buy a "nice low mileage 2011/2012 model" for a really low price

^ That applies to used vehicles from the east coast as well.

That is a tough picture to look at.

A local Nissan dealer was completely flooded out. The dealership building had around 6-7 fow in it. More rain in the forcast for several days to come but the waters went down a lot since yesterday. I would still rather deal with flooding like this than the drought and fires in Texas.

Those vehicles will be bought by the insurance company and...hopefully...destroyed. At the very least...the titles will be branded. Caveat emptor!!!

They generally get resold. I'm in NE PA and when you are looking to purchase vehicles after a flood you check the lower radiator mounts as that is generally the area where you can find mud they did not get out.

Fresh water flood vehicles are saveable.
After Hurricane Katrina there were thousands and thousands of vehicles destroyed as they had been submerged in the brackish water that was the result of the storm surge.

Not me!! Water was about an 6 inches below the door here. It was in my 92 land cruiser. Once I got to deeper water the water rose to above the bottom of the door. When this happened a transmission light came on, the differential light came on, an unnamed red square illuminated, and the battery light came on. But nothing stopped working. I think those lights in that combination are the land cruiser's way of saying "dude. water is above the door. Get the heck out of dodge NOW"

(Its a video. Click on it to play)
