Old Nelly pictures by Dphart - Photobucket
This is my 96 with 145,000. I used to own a 96 150 with a 351 in it. Iwas young and I lifted with 9" and tore it up in the woods. Became a family man and bought an 04 FX4. Got t-boned with 4 payments left and totalled it. I missed my 150 obs since the day I sold it. Found this one on E-Bay and bought without even seeing it. This truck was originally bought by a retired couple from NH. They were "snow birds" as we call them. They owned a 5th wheel camper and spent their winters here in Fl. This truck has never seen snow or been off road. I bought just over a year ago and replaced the front springs and bushings, reuilt tranny, new cps, new starter, and put a cd player in it as it had the original am/fm/casset deck in it. Still have it and it looks brand new. It had 123,000 on it when I bought it and it is my daily driver. The old man traded it in and I jumped all over it. I love this truck and hope to have it for long time. It is all original with the tool box and cb added by the original owner. This is the best forum and you guys keep it up. These are still the best damn trucks ever built
That truck looks a lot like mine. First thing I would do is yank that plastic engine cover and set it aside somewhere for safe keeping. You need to be able to see the engine, and that thing just gets in the way.
Don't hang around here too much or you will catch Powerstroke Modification Syndrome, which is highly contagious and very expensive. I have a mild case right now. I only expect it to get worse when I get the manual transmission in. I'm quite sure that mine will develop into a terminal case...
Edit: And yes, these are the best trucks ever made.
I try to keep it up with my "weekly chores" but sometimes it slides for 2-3 weeks. The original owner really must have been very maticulas (excuse the spelling) because it looked almost new under there when I bought it.

yank that plastic engine cover and set it aside somewhere for Halloween! It is a Darth Vader mask! "Ranger!...I am your father"
Nice looking truck. My wife keeps her engine that clean, and I've seen a few others who do it as well. I'm pretty sure mine was never that clean the day I took delivery from the dealer, but cheers to you for being able to stay on top if it.
