Got the dash pot in today. Seeing this one, the old one was definitely crapped out. BUT, I put it on, took the truck for a short test drive; no real difference. I adjusted the trans mod out half a turn, see how that does tomorrow morning.
Truck ran like complete crap this morning. Adjusted the screw back in a turn before I left school and it ran MUCH better. Im thinking another quarter turn or so shoud do it. Thanks for the help guys.
As much as I hate to dig up this thread, I'm gonna. I've been running the truck without the EGR hooked up and it's doing ok, crappy gas mileage aside. I cut up the old exhaust an rearranged everything a few weeks ago. Still stumbles with the EGR hooked up. Even pulled the muffler off and it still acted up, so I know it's not excessive backpressure. I've tried timing at 6*, 12*, and everything in between with no real difference.
I made a video the other day of the truck with and without the valve hooked up. I'd love to finally get this problem solved. 1979 F150 EGR Problems - YouTube
