fuel injection ?
1990 Aerostar 4.0 litre 335.000 km
Today when I went to start my van it started fine, went into high idle. It idles in high idle for about ten seconds, then kicks down and stalls. I have to have my foot on the gas when it kicks down.

fuel injection ?
No answer for the stall, but if your coolant is low, motor is apt to go to high idle, as sensor doesn't warm up quickly if not submerged. See if coolant needs to be topped off, try again.
