C6 to ZF swap

looking for some info on doing a swap from my C6 to a ZF 5speed in my truck. truck is a 79 f250 4x4 that i did the 460 swap in, when i did the swap i was told i coould not use the fly wheel from the M block. now i am not happy with the c6 for hwy and have a 1990 f250 460 zf combo that i can take the trans and ect from. what im looking for is if it will work or is the block balanced different between the two that i can not use the 90 flywheel on the 70s. and if anyone has any tips please let me know

thanks

No sure about the fly wheels being different. Very possible since your 79 is carbed and the 90 is EFI.

But everything else will work. You will need a clutch pedal assembly from a 73-79 truck.

And you might have to modify the floor hump as well as the ZF is a tall transmission.

the zf is a tight fit in a 79 and may take some messin around to get it in. you have to use the flywheel from a 79 460, 79 460s were internally balanced and newer 460s were external.
