I've noticed that my rear bumper on my 2011 Super Duty is off toward the driver side about 1/2 inch. Is there any adjustment to align the rear bumper from side to side?
Interesting. I just went out and looked at mine and it appears to be even. I didn't put a tape measure to it, but it is very close. Do you think someone could have tapped the bumper either at the dealer or after you bought it in a parking lot?
Good thought on the parking-lot tap. I considered that. However, after examining and finding no scuffs or scrapes, I made a trip to the dealer to look at the 2012s on the lot to compare. I found that, out of about 40 Super Dutys, only three had perfectly centered rear bumpers. All the others were off to one side by about 1/4 to 3/4 inches. That is what is making me wonder if there is some way to simply loosen some bolts somewhere and adjust. Anybody know if and how you can?
I just looked at mine and mine is off by maybe a 1/4". It seems like the brackets are solid and non adjustable. How about loosening all of the bed bolts and trying to slide that around?
OK, its been 25 minutes since my last post and in that time I loosened all 8 bed bolts and was able to align the bed to my liking. Mine was off quite a bit in the front that I could notice it in my mirrors. The bed moved pretty easy. Once I got the bed aligned to my liking I tightened the bolts down a little bit at a time while criss-crossing the pattern. Checked everything with straight edges and its looks 'real' good to me.
I noticed mine was off about 1/2in on the drivers side also, strangely enough on my way to a concert last night I was behind a 2011 SD and his rear bumper was also noticeably off on the drivers side
