Getting new tires

I have a 94 F350 CC 2wd that I am going to put new tires on today. It has 265/75r16s on it on factory aluminum wheels. I bought a set of 16x9 wheels for it, and want to put on 285/75r16. I dont think I will have clearance problems, but wanted to check with you guys first. Thanks.

I put 285 geolanders on mime and it rubbed on the bumper, so I loosened the bumper and raised it and it didn't rub anymore. It was still close so I ground a little of the bumper and now its fine.

My 91 F250 has BFG Commercial TA's 275/85R16 but there is plenty of room even when the rear end is nearly draggin

Depends on the wheel offset. If your new wheels are further out, then more chance of rubbing with the bigger tires. You are probably OK based on your old size and clearance, assuming the new wheels are not weird offset.

I have an 88 reg cab 4x4, recently I put new 16 x 8 wheels with 305/70R16 tires and no rubbing, although it is about as large as I can go without a lift kit. Front bumper lower corner is the closest location for potential rubbing.
