im pulling the tired 302 out of my 92 f150. i have picked up a lower mileage 94 351 out of a bronco. my plans are to pull the motor and the electrical being sd and swapping in the mass air electronics for the 351. is there any obstacles im going to run into doing this swap? the maf computer i have is for an aode trans and i have the aod. is that going to cause problems no being hooked up? i also need to know what vehicles ford put the 351 with aod combo to obtain a flexplate. any help is appreciated, hoping to start the swap soon.
Are you sure your truck has an AOD and not 4R70w? What is the trans code on the drivers door pillar?
An AODE computer would be from a Mustang I suspect(what is the box code?). If so I don't think it will be a problem not having that transmission hooked up as the computer didn't control much besides TC lockup, worse case it may throw a code.
The 351 was only found with an AOD in the mid/late '80's Crown Vic.
It's not necessary or practical really to pull all the wiring from your engine bay to do a MAF swap since most of it is still needed, the list of wires to be added is a quite short and there are a few others that have to be moved at the EEC connector to facilitate using a Mustang computer, but that's not difficult either.
