2001 F 250

Last time pulling with truck smell coming through air vents that smelled like clutch slipping, this is automatic transmission. Thoughts on what the problem could be?

Could it be your brakes?

The slide pins freezing up is a common problem with these trucks.

This actually happen while pulling up hill, and brakes appear to be working normally.

Have you ever had the filter and fluids changed on the transmission? very easy job to do by a DIYer. If you want instruction, they will be posted for .

More then likely the front seal on the tranny is getting weak. They will leak when the trans gets hot and that smell goes right into the cab.

Do you have a tranny temp gauge?
