2000 ford excursion

Guys and gals I once again have a question for ya's. I'm looking at a 2000 Ford excursion limited, its in pretty decent shape has 99,000 miles on it for $8,500 the leather interior seems to be pretty good. There is no body rust some on the chassis. it came from Wis. My question is: Do you all think this is a good deal? What is the life of the tranny and V-10 engine. Is there something that was a problem with these? Any repeating issues?

From what I have read, the trans is not the best, but they are not terrible either. The V10 will last a very long time, assuming it has been maintained properly. The one issue is with the spark plugs blowing out. Most seem to believe it is because they are not properly torqued (not enough torque). Assuming everything is in working condition, it seems like a decent deal to me. That is pretty low miles for a truck that is almost 12 years old.
