How did you paint the raised letters and not everything else?

I taped off everything that was easy to tape then sprayed it with primer and then paint. After it had dried a little (still tacky) I took a clean rag dipped in acitone and carefully wiped off the raised ribs leaving the paint down in the low spots. Anything that was stuck on or in a tuff spot I used a razorblade dipped in acitone (not to much as you don't want it to run off the blade and onto the paint that's staying. Hope that helps.

ok so I edited the first page of this thread and added the pics from my computer but it took forever so I'm not sure how long it will be to update the rest. Sorry I'll do my best for those who want to see them. Other projects continue to shove their way ahead of this one but I'm still planning and collecting parts for it.

Thanks for the continued interest and support

I've updated the photo's through page 6 and working on page 7. I've had to search through old memory cards to find most of these pics so it's taking forever. but it is cool to go back and visit the project very closely to match the correct photo's to what I was doing, just wish I could get back to it again soon. Anyway for those who care to look back at the project there are pic's to see again for half of it... more to be fixed as I find and organize the photo's.

Thanks

Photobucket can die for all I care. I just finished adding back all the pics to this thread and I have to say that sucked! I don't think I'll ever use a 3rd party site for photo's ever again.

The only update is for my daily driver truck. I've wanted to put new seatbelts in for a while and my in cab fuel tank started leaking. So I decided it was time to take out the tank and put in modern seatbelts. I had a 87 parts truck that I cut out the cab pillar that had the seatbelt mount in it and it fits into the pocket of the older trucks with a little trimming. So I pulled out the seats and the carpet then the fuel tank and cleaned up the work area.

I then welded it in and then hit it with primer and paint.

. . .
.

I put these plates in behind the shoulder strap mounts to reinforce the sheet metal on both sides.
