The bed bolts in mine were very hard to remove, PB Blast them from the top and bottom. Also I forget which torxs size it takes but have more than one. Other than that unplug the tail light wires etc. and that's it.
Definitely soak the bolts, some come out easy some don't. I'm pretty sure the size is a
T50 plus, the T50 will be a little loose. Cheapos will snap like glass, I bought 4 off the snap on truck and have broken 2. If you get a bolt that won't come out, I grind an X in the head and air hammer it off. Be careful with your new bed, they're about as tough as an aluminum beer can.

The truck is a short bed.... so they are far and few between. The only ones I have found were brand new take-offs, and they were all around 2k, and I don't have the $$$.
*EDIT*
Oh, and it's maroon (toreador red) but any color would work fine. I'm tempted to just put on a flatbed, anyway.
Hey thanks for the tips folks!! I plan on PB Blasting those bolts for a few days before the swap. Worse case Ill take some torches to it or drill em out. Drove down to Claremont NH today and picked the bed up from a local truck shop. Apparently this guy travels south and picks up beds and other random parts. The best part of all of this is the bed came from GA and is the EXACT same color as my truck. Couldnt have caught a better break. Besides some minor cosmetic issues its completely rust free. Ill try to get some pics up soon if I can figure out how to do it.
ToMang, just like yours mine was as shot. Completely falling apart. I think by pure luck I found this one. I searched most of Maine for a bed with no luck.
Ill keep you guys posted as to how things come out
I WISH!!! Ive been searching for a short bed for months! Can you give me some info on this guy who you got it from. Maybe he can get me one!
Maurice Truck and Auto in Claremont, NH. Really good guy. If you googled Maurice Truck and Auto in Claremont his shop number comes up. Give him a shout! Maybe he can hook you up with one
Not trying to hijack or steal the thread but its not everyday I see 3 different people from Maine in the same post. What parts are you guys from? I lived in Sebago and Limington for the last 5 years and worked out of Standish.
