I am all about gratuitous, cheap and easy, that's me. SBCs are like belly buttons full of lint, it's been said that you can tell a car with a 350 cause they have a hood covering up the motor. Amen

BlueOval,

Do you have an idea how the ZF S5-42 fits in the transmission tunnel? From what I've seen its a very tall transmission. I'm looking at doing a similar swap 302/ZF S5-42 if I can find one, but it looks like one would have to get the engine to sit pretty low or hump the cab to get it to fit.

Any chance you've got measurements of the tranny laying around? More specifically:

#1 Excluding the shifter nub, the height of the gearbox is around 15 inches from what I've seen on the internets. How does the input shaft relate to the gearbox height? I.e. the input shaft centerline is 5" below the top of the gear box.

#2 Face of the bell housing to the center of the shifter in nuetral

#3 Gear box width?

Thanks!

Jonathan

Thanks Bobby, glad to know that wasn't lost on everyone. A lot of people get really pissy when I bring it up, but they are usually the ones with hoods. Everybody else gets a chuckle
