Looking at what is suppose to be a 66 but I see a 64 grill. Owner tells me its a 66 cab and front end. Is it possible to put a 64 grill in a 66 front end? Haven't seen it in person yet. Need to get my ducks in row so I know what to verify...green horn at F110's
Quick answer. Yes, a '64 grille will fit in a '66 nose. The '64 has turn signals in the grille while the '65-'66 have the turn signals in the header above the grille.
Much obliged for the replies, in the meantime I found a thread with a bunch of answers on it. Nice pic of the White 66. The one I'm looking at is not quite that nice but I don't think my dogs will know the difference. As far as emblems. The truck I'm looking at with the 66 cab and front end has the I beam emblem but not the I beam because its a 63 chassis....little bumped about that.
that's very good to know, having not ridden in either one since they were new gave me nothing to go by. That's out of the way. I have a post on another section about my 96 vs a 66. Lost of stuff has been happening with my 96 and I keep going on the fence about giving it up....lately...I'm more inclined to drive the 66 for what I do.
If I get this 66, 64, 63, 60 combo of a truck I'll work with you on the 64 steel grill in it. I'll be hunting a 66 Chrome for it. Or is that a holy grail I'd be looking for....for that matter maybe the 64 steel is the holy grail...what do I know

The chassis used with a solid front axle is not the same as used with Twin-I-Beams. They may look similar, but there are myriad differences between 1961/64's and 1965/66's.
I doubt this is a 1966 (or 1965) based on the info you've typed..considering it has a '63 (1961/64) chassis and a 1964 grille.
IMO, What you have found is a 1961/63 or 1964 with leaf spring front suspension that someone either added the emblems, or more than likely replaced damaged front fenders with 1965/66 fenders.
1961/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD use the same front fenders, 1965 uses different fender emblems than 1966. 1961/64's do not have fender emblems.
The sheet metal hood is the same 1961/66. 1961/62's use one style of hood side emblem, 1963/64's, another. 1965/66's do not have hood side emblems.
1961/66: Each year uses specific grilles, but all can be swapped around. The parking lights used 1961/62 are different than 1963/64, 1963/64 are different than 1965/66's, which are in the header above the grille.
The cab used on 1961/64's, 1965 F100/250 4WD's and 1966 F250 4WD's has a step when the door is opened. 1965/66 F100/250 2WD's and 1966 F100 4WD's do not have a step.
1961/63: The front bumper uses 3 bolts per side in a triangular shaped pattern to mount it / 1964/66's use 2 vertical bolts per side.
1961/64: The I-6 engines have the intake/exhaust manifolds on the left (drivers) side. The 292 V8 has the dizzy behind the carb.
1965/66 I-6's have the intake/exhaust manifolds on the right (passenger) side. The 352 V8 has the dizzy in front of the carb.
Do NOT believe a single word a seller claims! Private sellers are usually either clueless, or can lie just as well as used/new car dealer, lawyers...and politicians.
Here's my truck 1964 F100 with a 66 grille. I kept the upper valance or header the same as 64. I don't have those turn signal lenses in my way. I have a complete functioning 66 grille that made the front end nice and clean. This is a steel grille that I had chromed.

I am doing this to my truck, but I will add the lights with the turn signals built in.
