I'm thinking about swapping the 302 in my 93 Bronco for a 351W. I know I'll need a new computer, so I looked on the AutoZone web site to check the price. They list several different computers from the same manufacturer for this engine. Does anyone know what the difference is between these computers?
Aftermarket companies often put their own code into remanufactured Ford boxes (that's why we sometimes cannot chip them) so you'd have to ask them. There's no way for me to tell without going to Autozone's site and looking up the parts (and I don't have time for that). Post the info here.
The "F2TF-xx" part number has to be matched up to the "F2TF-xx" on your existing computer box. With the wrong match you can have poor performance, improper shift points, etc.
Remember, the truck currently has a 302. I want to put in a 351. The computer that's in the truck right now won't work with a 351. That's why I need a new computer.
I don't have box code details for 1993. Ie, which box code represents which options, tranny, etc. You'll need to check with a dealer. All I can tell you when looking up codes for that year is what vehicle they go with.
