I have been trying to manually read the error codes on my 92 F150 (using the jumper wire and counting blinks). I have been having trouble with my E40D shuddering, and I was expecting to get some sort of tranny related code. These are the codes I read:
327= EGR circuit below minimum voltage
328= EGR closed valve voltage lower than expected
634= Manual lever voltage position higher or lower than expected
First of all, what do these mean, and second of all, why are there no error codes for the tranny? I read the codes only with the key ON because that is what a technical manual says. Will I get different codes when the truck is running? It has been hooked up to a reader before, and if I remember correctly, it was running. Can anyone offer up any knowledge?
Where are you reading the procedure? The Haynes manual has the best (although it's a little confusing), but this one is OK and it has my code list.
The MLPS is a transmission code. The Manual Lever Position Sensor is just the glorified neutral start switch & backup light switch on the E4OD & 4R70W.
The EGR codes are probably because of vacuum leaks - check the reservoir on the R wheelwell & all the vacuum lines.
Yeah, I got the full notification, but the system doesn't hold the refused message or tell me who it came from. Send it again, but plan on waiting until next week when I get back from Florida.
